Chris Sloan · on the lanes
The approach
Two-handed is all I coach. The footwork, the timing, the release and the equipment demands are not the one-handed game with a second hand on the ball — and treating it that way is where most coaching falls short.
You send video. I work through it angle by angle and send back a technical breakdown: what's sound, what's costing you, and the exact work to fix it — with drills to take straight into practice. That's my own game in the clip at the top of the page, and there's a short walkthrough below of how the lessons run.
About me
I'm Christopher Sloan — Ireland's only professional bowler, and the first Irish member of the PBA. I'm not a general coach who does a bit of two-handed on the side. Two-handed is my discipline: the footwork, the timing, the wrist and hand positions, and the equipment demands are all their own, and my coaching is built entirely around them.
I've won tournaments across Europe, Asia and the USA, taken bronze at the World Men's Championship, and represented Ireland since 2010 — I know what this game demands under pressure because I compete in it. I also understand the equipment side, not just the technique — I'm an IPSIA-accredited pro shop operator and a certified ball driller, which means I can look at your game and your gear together.
Away from competing I'm Chairperson and President of Tenpin Ireland, our national governing body, and a Sport Tour developer for the sport. I've presented coaching seminars across Europe, Asia and the USA, and coached players to European medals. What I teach here is the same material I deliver in those seminars — now one-to-one, on your schedule, wherever you bowl.
A word from Chris
Who I am, why two-handed is all I coach, and what happens when you send me your game.
How it works
Three steps. No travel, no scheduling around my diary — and you keep every analysis to refer back to.
You fill out a short form about your background, your goals, and what's frustrating you — so the analysis is grounded in your game, not just what I see on screen.
Two to five clips on your phone at 720p — at least one from behind and one from the side, one shot per file. Full setup guide below.
I analyze your video angle by angle and send back a personalized video breakdown with drills you can take straight to the lanes.
Good video makes a real difference to the quality of your analysis. Here's exactly where to stand and how to set up your phone so I can see everything I need.
Send two to five clips — the more angles, the better. These give me what I need:
From behind: phone vertical, at shoulder height, your whole body in frame. Don't zoom in.
From the side: phone horizontal, following you from first step to release. Stay centered; you can stop at the release.
Three-quarter view: stand a step or two behind and a few to the side, phone vertical, whole swing and footwork visible.
Record at 720p, 30 fps — that's the sweet spot for motion analysis. Slow-motion and anything above 720p create files that are harder to work with, so stick with standard video at 720p.
Send two to five clips, at least one from behind and one from the side. Trim each to a single shot — one shot per file. Accepted formats: .MOV, .MP4, .AVI. Please don't send YouTube links; I need the actual video file.
Preferred: attach your files directly on the Video Upload form. Or: upload to Dropbox / Google Drive / OneDrive and share the link via the contact form.
You'll usually have your analysis back within [CONFIRM: 2–5] business days of submitting your video. If it's been longer, check your spam folder first — that's the most common reason a lesson link goes missing — then get in touch and I'll follow up.

New to my coaching, or ready for a complete baseline of your two-handed game? Start here.
I start by reading your bowling history — your background, what's frustrating you, and what you're trying to achieve — so the analysis is grounded in your game, not just what I see on screen. Then I work through your video angle by angle and give you specific, usable feedback you can take straight to the lanes.

Already worked with me? This is your check-in.
Send new video along with a quick note — what's improved, what still needs work, and what you're preparing for — and I'll give you a focused breakdown with specific adjustments to keep your game moving forward. It's the most affordable way to stay sharp between bigger sessions, and a good idea before a tournament or a new league season.
How to get started:
One assessment plus five follow-ups, usable over 12 months.
Real improvement takes time and repetition, and this is built around that. You start with a full assessment, then check in with me up to five more times over the next year as your game evolves. Each follow-up keeps you on track, deals with new challenges, and locks in the progress you've made.

Self-study
The frameworks I teach in seminars, written up in full. Three guides, one topic each. Optional — every lesson above already includes drills drawn from them.
Release mechanics, wrist and hand positions, and how rev rate and axis rotation are actually built — without sacrificing accuracy.
The footwork patterns and timing windows the two-handed swing is built on, and how to train them.
Ball choice, surfaces and layouts for a high-rev game — from an IPSIA-accredited pro shop operator.
On the lanes
These are the angles I coach from — the approach, the swing, the release and the follow-through, on tour and in the pits. Tap any clip to watch. It's the same view I'll be looking at when I break down your game.
Clips are muted and loop. Tap or hover a clip to play — others pause automatically. Drag or scroll sideways for more.
Optional tier
If you're not ready for one-to-one lessons yet, the Collective is a lower-cost way in. You get a growing library of two-handed coaching videos, a monthly live group Q&A with me, and a private community of two-handed bowlers to train alongside. It's optional, and it's separate from the lessons above.
